We just love Georgina Chapman. The Marchesa designer always looks amazingly put-together. Things were no different at the Oscars on Sunday. And though we may not be able to have her her stunning Marchesa dresses, her insane natural beauty, or her jewels, we CAN get her hair. We got the scoop from Kérastase on how to recreate the sleek roped chignon she wore on the red carpet.
Step-by-step, this is how Kérastase Artistic Director Akemi Tamaribuchi created the look:
- On dry hair, apple Mousse Substantive root to end and blow dry
- Create a natural side part
- Apply 2 – 4 pumps of FIbre Architecte from mid-lengths to ends
- With a 1 1/4″ barrel curling iron, set hair in a brick pattern, spraying each section with Double Force Hairspray before curling
- Clip each curl and allow the entire head to cool before removing clips
- Comb out the curs and secure in a ponytail just below the crown
- Separate the ponytail into 3 sections, twisting sections into a rope chignon and securing across the nape with pins to create a line that follows the jaw line
- Finish with Double Force Controle Ultime to set the look in place
