1. Reach for the Water, Skip the Soda. A simple habit to incorporate into your daily life is to choose water over any sugar or unnatural drink. Not only will you reduce your caloric intake, but it is usually more budget-friendly as well.2. Eat Fresh, Not Processed. Don’t feel you have to adhere to a strict paleo diet, but be cognizant of what you are eating. Refrain from eating anything out of a bag (chips, cookies, etc.) or anything out of a box (cereal, frozen food, etc.) as much as you possibly can. Choose instead to make more of your meals from fresh or canned ingredients (in the winter) and add flavor with herbs, spices, garlic, and extra virgin olive oil. You don’t have to lose flavor, and you’re also helping to regulate your cravings in a more manageable and healthy way.
3. 30 Minutes Every Day. Whether you enjoy walking, running, yoga, or anything that gets your mind off your day and moves your feet and body – revving up your heart rate enough to reduce your tension – make a habit of engaging in it every single day.
4. Master Your Mind. One of the healthiest things each one of us can do is to master our thoughts. When we allow negative ideas, worries, and analysis to run unchecked in our minds, we waste valuable energy contemplating scenarios that ninety percent of the time never happen.
