Midweek Motivation: Three Essentials to Help Achieve Excellence

For many people, September is the beginning of a new year, and for everyone it is the beginning of a new season. Time to step out on the right foot, begin to strive for those goals you seek to achieve. And while not living up to our own high standards because we demand perfection can often halt our progress, instead we should simply strive for excellence of ourselves. So to keep your motivation up as you finish the week, here are a few ways to achieve excellence in whatever goals you are pursuing . . .

1. Have discipline. Upon setting a goal, stick to it. Allow yourself to be rewarded when you achieve small accomplishments to provide motivation to continue, but respect yourself and your dreams enough to not deviate from the path.
2. Be proactive and preventative. In other words, plan ahead, build up a cushion in your checking account and be clear about your goals. After all, if you don’t know where you’re going, you’ll never get there.
3. Find time to rest and relax. It is when we are well rested that we perform at our best, so be sure to regularly pamper yourself and get a sound night’s sleep.
