Fashion’s Night Out Seattle Sneak Peek

Fashion’s Night Out, the ultimate shopping extravaganza, is coming to Seattle! This is our chance! We will once and for all prove to Vogue and to the fashion world that Seattle has more to offer than 90’s grunge. Seattle will gain the fashion reputation it deserves. Seattle’s most stylish will converge to shop local, shop late, and enjoy the night out on the town.

But first, a little background. What is Fashion’s Night Out, you may ask? Back in 2009, Anna Wintour and scores of New York’s savviest shoppers flocked to shops after closing hours in an effort to celebrate style, spur consumer confidence, boost the fashion economy, and make shopping fun again. The event became a global initiative, and now Seattle is poised to participate in a big way – this is certainly the place to be, and be seen.

Retailers across Seattle will stay open later for your mingling pleasure. Trunk shows, demos, giveaways, activities, snacks and cocktails are in store (literally) for us! Bellevue, University Village, and Downtown Seattle’s stores will all have something for you.

It all starts on Thursday September 8th at 3:00 P.M.

The Seattle Met will distribute collectible fold-out FNO maps to give shoppers all the details. You can literally follow the Seattle Fashion pack, including Melissa, our founder, Seattle Met Fashion Editor, Laura Cassidy, Mia Harrison from Fashion Network Seattle, and more (see here!) But for now, here are just a few things that we at JENESEQUA recommend you put on your itinerary.

Bellevue

The Braven is the place to go for all of those on the Eastside. It was the only participant in last year’s Seattle Fashion’s Night Out, and this year, it’s coming back in full force. Neiman Marcus and Anthropologie are a must, with their fall collections, runway shows, champagne, delectable nibbles, celebrities, and an official FNO after party hosted by David Barton Gym. You can’t miss this! Doors open around 6 p.m.

The Bellevue Collection has got the retailers down, with over 75 participants. It will also have much more, with parties at the Zebra Club and Anne Taylor, dancing to DJs, live runway shows, complimentary drinks, snacks, and gifts, discounts up the wazoo, and the exclusive exhibit of the Nordic Fashion Biennale: Curator’s cut as the cherry to top it off.

University Village 3-9PM

Here of just a few highlights of Thursday night:

  • “Shopping, Sweets and Sweeps” by Cole Haan. You can enter to win a new pair of Cole Haan shoes every month for a year!
  • Anthopologie’s fall fashion trunk show
  • H&M $10 discount for purchases $50+
  • Swank Style Bar will offer discounts, raffles, makeup consultations, and champagne (for those of age)
  • They even have something for guys (JNS-GQ, look here!): Sony will host the “Man Cave Destination,” where you can game the night away
  • Tiffany & Co. will have a raffle between 3pm and 8pm on Thursday September 8th for a Tiffany & Co. sterling silver lock charm bracelet

Make sure to check out Madewell at University Village! We know it’s off the beaten path, but it’s definitely worth it. Make sure you get there early to get a gift bag with your purchases and check out the fall collection.

INSIDER NOTE: Arrive at UVillage early! The first 200 shoppers will receive FREE swag bags and VIP discounts in stores participating in the event.

University Village is also giving back! All who donate a new or gently-used coat to Wellspring Family Services (a charity that helps homeless families in King County) will be entered to win a $500 University Village Shopping Spree.

Downtown Seattle

The ultimate experience of Seattle’s Fashion’s Night Out! The three fashion moguls of Seattle – Barney’s, Nordstom, and Mario’s – will lead the way of this event as shoppers indulge in late-night sales and snacks, exploring the best couture Seattle has to offer. Walk down the red carpet at Nordstrom. Buy official FNO merchandise at Mario’s.  Save the date and enjoy an evening of schmoozing as Seattleites make their mark on the fashion map. It’s certainly the place to see and be seen. L’Occitane en Provence in Pacific Place can help you wind down the busy evening with a complimentary hand massage.

Our very own Melissa Middelton will be downtown, participating in The Ultimate Fashion Face-off at Macy’s on Saturday, September 10th at 2PM. More information can be found here. Mark your calendars!

And we found an app to help you not get lost at Fashion’s Night Out. Check it out: High Low.
