I know this story is circulating all over the word wide webs at the moment, but I would not be who I am, unless I posted it myself. As most of you know I love Parisian fashion, culture, food, arts, architecture, decor…the list goes on and on and on. I am anxiously awaiting for my copy of Ines de la Fressange’s book “Parisan Chic: A Style Guide” to come to my doorstep the first week of April (I pre-ordered it in December!) but until it does arrive I have been satisfying my french-tooth by indulging other fellow bloggers in their posts on the same topic. Lonny Mag’s March Issue does a feature on the book and includes a list of de La Fressange’s 10 ways you can get the Parisian Look. I am printing and framing this – as it is a great daily reminder but also art in of itself!
The book illustrates ways to mix and match affordable basics, with high end pieces. Ines suggests off-setting glam with the unexpected: long evening dresses with flats, biker boots with chiffon, tuxedo jackets with sneakers. This is exactly what I love about french women! They are never overdone or over the top. The French version of the book has photos of Ines and her daughter Nine, side by side to show that the looks can be effortless and timeless. At first glance I couldn’t tell who was mother (L) or daughter (R)!
Photos were taken from Heather Clawson’s Habitually Chic blog posted Sunday – read her post here. I have broken it down even further for you by providing the styles above – for every woman’s budget! Can’t beat $15.00 for a V neck at the Gap.
