It’s Friday and I thought I would post something fun and interactive! Can you guess which fictional fashionista’s living quarters this is?
Yes, I guess it isn’t that much of a mystery! It is Big and Carrie’s apartment in Sex and the City 2. I was just revisiting some photos I had saved of the beautiful Royal Blue sofa, perfectly styled coffee table – complete with books, Gargoyle book ends, succulents and nick-nacks – and symmetrical sitting chairs. Not a big fan of the rug, and I get that it is the “feminine side” of the masculin lines of the furniture, but everything else is perfectly styled to reflect Carrie and Big’s adult relationship.
I was reading that the set designers borrowed their style of the apartment, which is of tiny little rooms, reminiscent of a New York style home, from Hitchcock movies. Love the hallway, above, with the gilded lamps and mirror, mid century bubble glass decanter, and butterfly sanctuary.
And this closet? It speaks volumes about Carrie – her amazing wardrobe flung on the benches, floors, taking up half of Big’s closet, somewhat cluttered. And then you hav Big’s side – neatly organized by color, shoes in their corresponding boxes. You can see more photos here, I know the 2nd movie installment was somewhat disappointing, but I am hoping a 3rd will come out eventually! Long live SATC!
